PCB Brings in Star Mentors for Champions Cup Teams
Big news for cricket in Pakistan! The Pakistan Cricket Board PCB has announced fantastic group of five legendary mentors for the upcoming Champions One-Day Cup. This change is really exciting for local cricket as the board works to improve the domestic scene and help new talent grow.
Meet the Star Mentors
The PCB has selected an amazing team of cricket legends to coach and support the teams in the Champions One-Day Cup. The five mentors Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, and Waqar Younis will each offer their special skills & years of know-how with three-year contracts. They went through a careful selection process to make sure only the best mentors help shape Pakistani cricket’s future.
Champions One-Day Cup: A Fresh Start
Mark your calendars! The Champions One-Day Cup is happening at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from September 12 to 29, 2024. This tournament is part of the PCB Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25. It’s a big deal because it brings back senior men’s competitive cricket to Faisalabad after almost two years! The last domestic 50-over match was back in March 2022. They pushed the cup start date from September 1 to September 11, so national team players can join after their Test matches against Bangladesh.
