Gaddafi Stadium to Get Huge Investment as PCB Prepares for 2025 Champions Trophy
Gaddafi Stadium Pakistan is getting ready to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. People are super excited. This is the first time in lots of years that the country will have an international cricket event that’s this big. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has big plans. They’re working on upgrading stadiums throughout the country, & Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will get the most money invested.
Gaddafi Stadium’s Major Renovation
The PCB has set aside a huge amount – 7.7 billion rupees – for fixing up Gaddafi Stadium. This shows how serious they are about making the venue top-notch for everyone. The investment shows how important the Champions Trophy is & how dedicated the PCB is to give players & fans a great experience.
Here’s what they plan to do at Gaddafi Stadium:
- Pavilion Building: They’ll build a new steel-framed pavilion for about 1.1 billion rupees. This will make things better for players & fans.
- Office Building: There’ll be a new concrete office building costing around 3.47 billion rupees to help with stadium operations.
- Enclosure & Moat: A new steel enclosure will cost 1.25 billion rupees, plus a moat that’ll be 189 million rupees, making things safer & nicer.
- LED Screens & Floodlights: They’ll replace two LED screens for 330 million rupees, & install 480 new LED floodlights with 523 million rupees to brighten up the place.
- Seating & External Works: New seating will take about 375 million rupees, and they’ll put aside 93 million rupees for outside development.
National Bank Stadium & Pindi Stadium Upgrades
Gaddafi Stadium isn’t the only one getting attention! The PCB is putting money into other important stadiums too. The National Bank Stadium in Karachi is getting an investment of 3.5 billion rupees:
- Pavilion & Building Fixes: A new steel pavilion costing 1.5 billion rupees, along with upgrades to the main building and hospitality boxes costing around 580 million rupees.
- LED Screens & Floodlights: They’ll put in two new LED screens for 330 million rupees, swap out old floodlights with 450 new LED lights at around 490 million rupees, and add seats costing about 340 million rupees.
Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi is also getting a lot of work done, with costs around 1.5 billion rupees:
- LED Lights & Seats: They’ll replace old floodlights with 350 LED ones for about 393 million rupees and add new seats costing around 272 million rupees.
- Main Building & Other Fixes: Upgrades to the main building, hospitality boxes, and restrooms will cost about 400 million rupees, plus they’ll swap out two LED digital screens for another 330 million rupees.
