The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was thinking about hosting the PSL 10 playoffs & final match in another country. At first, England looked like a strong option.
Franchise owners were worried about costs. They heard that an official would go to England to check things out. But guess what? Sources say England turned down the chance to host the matches saying their grounds just weren’t available.
Now, some PCB officials are talking about the UAE as a possible place for the games. Still, it’s super hot in May, which makes it tough to hold matches there.
The dates for PSL 10 are set from April 10 to May 25. This timing clashes with the Indian Premier League (IPL), and that’s got franchises concerned. They worry that some big foreign players might choose to play in the IPL instead of the PSL.
On top of that, franchises had already reached out to the PCB about sharing profits from the ninth edition & other stuff. However, they’re still waiting for a reply. A senior official told owners during a call that there’d be a meeting with the governing council soon to go over their worries.
