PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi opened up about these questions and shared news on how the tournament prep is going. Naqvi, who was at the Gaddafi Stadium checking on renovations, mentioned that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is having talks with BCCI. “The Champions Trophy will be in Pakistan, & we’re talking to the BCCI Secretary,” Naqvi said. He also said they’re keeping in touch with boards from other teams taking part.
Naqvi spoke honestly about Jay Shah stepping into the role of the new Independent ICC Chairman. He added, “There’s no issue with Jay Shah becoming ICC Chairman.” This comment aims to ease worries about any conflicts or biases that might come up during the tournament.
When it comes to infrastructure
Naqvi promised that everything is moving along as planned for the tournament’s needs. The Gaddafi Stadium is getting major upgrades. The basement should be done by September 30, & after that, other floors will wrap up every few weeks. They aim to have the main building ready by December 31. Also, Pindi Stadium will get a whole new build, while Karachi’s National Stadium will finish its renovations before the Champions Trophy kicks off.
